Monday, January 8th … but it’s never too early to trash talk, right?

Well, turning 27 is much like turning…..26…and like turning 25…I see that after 21 it just doesn’t have that same coolness factor. Anyhoo…I plan to relax, be taken out for dinner and enjoy the day. That said…I have no freakin’ clue why I was up at 7 am on my birthday. I took the day off from work. But I was and so I got some quality internet surfing time and the results are below. Enjoy! And maybe think of it as enjoying the same quality time with me on my birthday.

Stick a Ribbon on that SUV
I don’t feel guilty about our SUV. It is a single family car that does fairly well on the gas mileage, but I digress. What I meant to say was…I respect and thank all of the service men and women, active, vets and/or retired for offering their life in protection of my freedom. Now, I will exercise that freedom.

Tongue and Cheek ways to get along at work
Steer well clear of all meetings
Half of every working day is spent in meetings, half of which are not worth having, and of those that are, half the time is wasted. Which means that nearly one third of office life is spent in small rooms with people you don’t like, doing things that don’t matter. The only reason people have so many meetings is that they are the one time you can get away from your work, your phone and your customers. People say that the secret of a good meeting is preparation. But if people really prepared for meetings, the first thing they would realize is that most are unnecessary. In fact, a tightly run meeting is one of the most frightening things in office life. These are meetings for which you have to prepare, in which you have to work and after which you have to take action. Fortunately, these meetings are as rare as a sense of gay abandon in the finance department.

You WILL marry a Jewish boy!
“He’s Italian for God’s sake! What’s gotten into you?”
Phone tap conversation, a radio show prank calls a girls devout Jewish parents. Hilarity ensues. Dad laughs in the end.

Come to the Friendly Island

Trailer of “The Corporation”
On the Apple Site– Profit motivation, wealth, general lack of environmental and community vision, manipulation of consumers, manipulation of the media…All hail Capitalism and the Corporation! Here is another clip

YES the media is manipulated. It’s not a cynical point of view it is a fact. Money gives you the better equipment and the wider audiences because you have more stations. You have to answer to that money or the well runs dry. The ethical ones try to fight it but it is, after all, their livelihood. Have you ever looked the other way when your job was at stake? This story sounds right on target. It would make perfect sense for the reporters to act the way they did and even more so for the corporation to act the way it did. Being as overt as it was…that was a mistake for Fox and they will hopefully pay for it. Where is the FCC in this? Fair and balanced my ass?

Apple gamers at their finest. Don’t get your panties all up in a knot people…at the root it is funny…
